Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge by the hour or a flat rate?
Which areas of London do you cover?
I usually provide a clear fixed quote rather than charging by the hour. Before quoting, I ask relevant questions and review the photos, videos, measurements and other details needed to understand the work properly.
This careful assessment, together with my experience across a wide range of jobs, allows me to estimate the work accurately in the great majority of cases. It protects both you and me: you know the agreed cost before I arrive, and I understand what the job is likely to involve. There are no hidden costs or hourly charges increasing while I work—the price is for completing the agreed job properly.
Alongside covering many E and SE postcodes, I regularly work in a number of residential developments across East and South East London. Previous experience within these developments can sometimes help me identify common wall types, installation challenges and recurring issues more quickly, allowing me to recommend the most suitable approach from the outset.
Do you bring your own tools and materials?
How quickly can you respond to my message?
Yes. I arrive with a comprehensive range of professional tools, dust-control accessories and carefully selected fixings for many common wall types and installation requirements. I carry numerous sizes and types of screws, wall plugs, anchors and mounting bolts, which means I can usually choose the most suitable fixing for the job rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all solution.
Standard fixings appropriate to the agreed work are normally included in the quoted price. You can supply job-specific items, or I can help source suitable products and include the agreed cost in your quote where possible.
I aim to respond to WhatsApp enquiries promptly during business hours, often within an hour. In many cases, I can provide a quote and offer an appointment within the same week.
Who will carry out the work?
You will deal directly with me from your first message through to completion. I do not pass jobs to agencies or unknown contractors.
You’re welcome to supply any fittings or materials you’ve already chosen. Before confirming a quote, I’ll review their suitability for the job. If an item is unlikely to provide a secure, reliable or suitable installation, I’ll let you know and discuss the available options.
Where appropriate, I can source suitable materials and include them in your quote, or you’re welcome to provide the agreed items yourself.
Do I need to buy the materials before your visit?
Yes. I recommend sending me a full list of the jobs, together with clear photos or a short video of each one. Combining several jobs into one visit can save time and travel costs, and I may be able to offer a better overall price depending on the amount and type of work involved.
Can you help with several small jobs during one visit?

Will the price change after I book?
The agreed fixed quote covers the work discussed before the appointment. Because I gather detailed information and assess the job carefully beforehand, the quoted price remains unchanged in the great majority of cases. If you decide to add separate work during the visit, I’ll confirm whether I can complete it and provide a price before starting it.
